I have using this product for 3-4year , after 3 year my one rod is not working. Maybe it fused . Overall good product 400 watt off each rod . In case of fully on it takes 800 watt.

Substandard product
This heater cost a decent amount of money. However, my experience has been bad starting after around 10 days.The heating coils are not durable enough and they stopped working after around 10 days. Further when the upper heating coil was working, there was a persistant plastic smell which is not a pleasant experience. One can ofcourse go visit the service center during the warranty period, but think about it – do you want to visit a service center during the winter months and wait for the product to be serviced and returned back to you after a certain number of days when you are facing the cold weather indoors. The coil should have been durable in the first place. With so many complaints/reviews on this heater wherein users have reported the coils stopped working after barely a couple weeks, one ponders – whether the manufacturers ran any durability tests on these products? My advice – research other heaters at a higher price point, check durability reviews of the coils/presence of plastic smell etc. before purchasing a new heater.

Handy and effective heater for a large room
** First Impressions **â The heater is around 10 inches wide & 13 inches high and is weighs nearly 3kgâ The body is in heat-resistant plastic and powder-coated steel. It feels a strong build and sturdyâ There are two filaments enclosed in a stainless steel cageâ There is a knob to turn the filaments on and there is a cut-off switch at the bottom** Usage & Performance **â When turned on, both the filaments gets heated up within a minute. The knob can be used to turn off one of the filaments to bring down the temperatureâ I live in Kerala where the lowest temperature in my area is never below 15 degrees in the night. I bought this for my grand mother and the room gets heated up pretty quickly. She turns one of the filaments off after midnight to control the temperature. I think this heater works well for a bedroom during sub-zero temperatures as wellâ The heater-body does heat up considerably after around half an hour and it is not very safe to touch when its turned on. You cannot definitely use this if there are toddlers at your homeâ There is an automatic switch that turns the heater off if the heater is knocked down. This reduces the risk of fire incase the heater tips overâ There is a small handle at the back if you want to pick the heater up when its hotâ There are certain precautions to be followed to ensure your safety while using this- Heater should always be in an upright position- It should not be used neat wet conditions- Power cord should never touch the heater when its turned on- Flammable materials like clothing or paper should not be kept infront of the heater- There has to be good clearance from the wall to provide air circulationâ This consumes 400 watts on one filament and 800 if two filaments are turned on. So, be prepared to see your energy bills going upâ Since there are no moving parts, the heater does not create any noise while working. This is the advantage I see for this over the fan heaters which are annoyingly noisy at nightâ It has got one year warranty, but I think filament is considered a consumable and may not be covered** I dont like these **â The filaments turn red and it emits a lot of light. I find it very annoying in the night. But since this is a filament heater, this is how it works and there is no other choiceâ The power cord should have got heat shielding sleeved protection. There are high chances for the cord to touch the heater body and this could potentially melt the cordâ The steel parts of the heater I got had rusted here and there; I really doubt the quality of stainless steel used** Summary **â I have been using this only for a week now. I have seen a few reviews that says the filaments failed after a few months. So, I will comment on the durability of the heater after using this for a few monthsâ I am very happy with the heating effectiveness, the build sturdiness and compactness of the heater. I paid Rs.1049 in Jun-17 and I rate FOUR stars. One star off on the points I dont like.

Great design with a very serious flaw: the heating rod is most unreliable
Pros:it works on a regular power pointDoes not heat to a dangerous degreeProvides focussed direct heat, good enough for a single person or warming a small roomIs aesthetically pleasingActually uses less energy than a full room heaterAfter an entire season of use did not find any wires burning or connections going lose.Cons:The heating rod is the most unreliable part. Three rods in my purchases went off within a few hours. The replacements, provided for free, lasted through an entire season then, simply went off, one by one. The mechanic informed that a typical rod lasts just about a month.The shining surface which reflects heat started getting tarnished within a few days of use.Would I repeat buy this product?No. Not unless the structural flaws in it are removed.How does it compare with other heaters?It is safer and easier to use than a plain rod heater. Much less of a bother too.It is cheaper to use than a oil filled radiator and cheaper too.But the oil filled radiator lasts for decades. Thus becoming cheaper to use in the long run.The plain rod heater gets repaired easily and very cheaply. This one costs at least Rs. 100 to replace the rod each time plus whatever the repairman charges for his effort.By the way, the home service provided by USHA is quite good and reliable. Except that you just have to keep shelling out more and more money to get your heater repaired.

One coil always melts
I am writing this review after using one year, in 1st 10 days, the upper coil didnât work, as it was in warranty, it was replaced then again same thing happened but this time the service man came and said the coil is melted, he just stretched the coil inside and connected again, last year winter was over and in this winter the same coil again stopped working after using 7-8 days, but this time warranty period was over. So I opened it and found that, the stretched coil is melted so I stretched it again and connected, it worked. But after 8-10 days again same problem. So I fixed again by same method. Long story short, third class product from USHA. Donât buy it.
