 [24 May, 2020- around 5 months after start of the first phase of Corona]Received the product today. Used it briefly. People are people and people like issues, so I’ll put the issues first. The temperature knob seems a little fishy but will update about it soon. That’s all the issues that are burning a hole in my soul. It’s a shiny product, and works as described.I don’t have much experience with toasters, as I mainly need something that can make the bread crispy without burning, as I believe the Rs 2k burn in my pocket is enough for now.It looks classy, something that will make you wanna keep this on the kitchen counter. The classy effect comes from the fact that It’s all steel. Beware that steel is steel and steel is a good conductor of heat, so take care while using it. I have noticed that it does get pretty hot while using, so keeping it out of your child’s reach would be a step in the right direction.Taking about steps in the right direction, it has hinges in the heating area that keep your bread centralised giving it a balanced heat overall, at least that’s the idea. Though it works relatively to the price of the product, but I’ll give it 3 out of 5. It’s also because that’s the knob setting that perfectly crisps my breads, 3. Anything further is a bad idea, but feel free to experimentTalking about balance, this toaster requires you to keep both compartments full of bread, for a balanced heating. This urge for balance reminds me of Thanos, and that further reminds how things can jump from and to the past, like this toaster. It jumped from 2018, when it was imported, and was delivered to me. Though I wouldn’t complain as long as it shines as described.The final product from the toaster is a crisp piece of bread that you can cut easily using a knife. It feels like a rusk but softer. It’s hard enough that you can rub a cold brick of butter against it without breaking the bread, but soft enough that you can cut it using a knife.

I bought the American Micronic 2-slice toaster after considering many other brands including Philips, Russel Hobbs, Prestige, Bajaj, Black and Decker and Kitchen Aid. What made me choose this?3 things:1. I did not want something overly complicated as I only wanted toast and toasted sandwiches – it toasts and has defrost and reheat functions2. I wanted something easy to clean and which wouldn’t look bad after being used by multiple people (I have 4 people + a maid who use the toaster – The toaster is completely made of stainless steel so is easy to clean and doesn’t scratch easily3. I wanted something strong and reliable which wouldn’t get moody (thermostat setting keeps changing, browning level keeps changing etc.) or go bust (malfunction or the plastic cracks) – again stainless steel so strong enough and no worries about crackingPros:1. Consistent performance – browning works as promised – because of the dryness of the bread which I use, I have not been able to test the browning control above 4.5 as my bread starts to burn2. Buttons are ringed with blue light to show when power is on3. Wide bread slots each of which can take 2 slices if you’re trying to toast a sandwich4. Stainless steel makes it look very premiumCons:1. The toaster is a little light and tends to slide around on the counter topWhat could have been made better:1. Questionable Manufacterer Data
Bought this as I liked its looks. First supply was defective as the lever would not hold when engaged. The packing also was soiled and it seemed to have been passed around quite a bit. The replacement had the same problem and one had to really snap the lever hard for it to catch. Decided to keep it as wife liked its looks. That said, oddly the outer packing does not mention where it is manufactured. It only shows it has been imported by American Micronics, India, without saying from where. Amazon In says it is made in China but this is not mentioned either on the packaging nor on the toaster itself. On the side of the outer package the address of the Company in USA is shown as Delaware. Google Company name and address for USA site and you get no information on the toaster being marketed by them in America. Not on Walmart, Costco or Amazon USA and certainly not from their site. Very false and misleading as the product is not an American Brand. Considering I paid more than toasters from Philips I think I have been foolish not having returned it when I could.

Cord is way too short
This works fine but I had to stack a couple of boxes on top of one another to be able to use it. The cord is super short. I have never seen anything like it. If I did not have something to stack to sit it on I would not be able to use it.
