It is a sturdy looking fairly large implement. The steel is 18/10 which I had not noticed during the purchase. Very easy to grate cheese. The blades are sharp , so it is better for grating bigger things like cheese blocks, potato and other things larger than garlic. So, the sliding cap over the blades is an essential too. Can be rested on the counter or kept at an angle while grating. Overall very useful implement to have for the modern cook.
