Very nice product for weighing in gms. I am using in lab for weighing seeds.
Not your average reviewer –
Works well but it’s bulky must not exceed 2 KG or you’ll see “0_Ld” on the screen which stands for “overload”8. You can calibrate it by pressing and holding MODE for a couple of seconds but you need a standard 2KG weight to do so which I don’t have so that’s pretty useless for meCons:1. This thing is heavy by itself. It weighs 271 grams! By comparison, an average Android smartphone weights around 150-200 grams. Even my SF-400 scale that can weight things upto 10 KG only weighs ~232 grams.2. It certainly doesn’t power itself off after 30 seconds. It takes around 3 minutes for it to power off. The documentation is incorrect.Quick tip: If you power it on the first time and the display doesn’t read 0g, just press the TARE button and it’ll go to 0. You can ‘calibrate’ it by simply hitting TARE when the display is not at 0 when you turn it on.
I like this nice little digital scale and while it checks most boxes, there are still some things to be aware of.Pros:1. The product details mentioned on the listing are false in a good way. This scale can weigh things up to 2 KG and not 600 grams as mentioned in the product listing2. 2 x AAA batteries come with the product, although they’re cheap and probably bad quality (fun fact: the batteries are actually called BURSTO. Lol. Talk about the stupidest name for a battery!)3. The locking mechanism on the notebook style scale is pretty secure and won’t open unless I actually exert some force to pry it open4. The display is backlit with green backlight that you can turn on or off! It doesn’t remember your last setting so if you turn it off, it is automatically turned on (default setting) the next time you power it on. The viewing angle is pretty good for normal usage (at about 45 degree angle) but the screen looks pretty washed out if you look at it straight down at a 90 degree angle5. Can measure stuff in grams (g), ounces (oz), carat (ct), grains? (gn), and tola? (tl). Honestly, I don’t see anyone using anything apart from g, oz and ct6. It can count pieces (pcs) of a thing that weighs the same like say coins or gems but I personally have 0 use for that functionality7. Has TARE functionality which allows you place something like a bowl or a plate on top of the scale and not have the weight of the bowl/plate count against the weight that’s measured by the scale. However, the total weight of the bowl/plate +
