When there is excess buildup of pressure within the pressure cooker, the gasket bulges out through the slot present towards the side in the lid of the pressure cooker. The pressure gets released out through the opening on the lid.

Avoids spillage but need to just use the right amount of water for cooking rice or dal.Since it is a small cooker the whistle goes frequently. Give 4 to 5 whistles for proper cooking and keep it on medium flame.Easy to clean

Great pressure cooker
It’s for a single person food and it’s works great. I love everything about the Prestige brand. Quality and convenience. This is my smallest Prestige pressure cooker and I am getting one more of this size. I have other two bigger Prestige pressure cookers. Someone was complaining in the comments about the handles of this small one not sturdy but I find them very strong and study.

Design flaw
This cooker has a design flaw. The lid of the cooker needs to be pressed from the top for it to fit. Which is not possible while cooking as the lid is hot.You can’t close the lid without applying pressure on the lid. Asked for replacement, and the other unit had the same issue. So it’s a design flaw
