Heavy duty construction, massivve value for the price.
This coffee tamper is clearly built for professional use, but the size of the base is standardized so it can easily fit the most basic espresso machine dispensers. I own a basic model from Morphy Richards and it works wonderfully well for me.Previously I’d been using the pre-packaged plastic tamper and scoop that comes with the machine itself, but I had to make this purchase because the plastic tamper broke. No trouble of that here: this tamper will sooner break your foot if it falls of the counter before it damages itself! The whole thing weighs 580 grams and is dense as hell, the weight of it is really good for uniform coffee tamping. The flat base is attached to the handle using a screw mount, so it can be disassembled and stored in pieces if there is a lack of space. However this only betrays the fact that this product has been machined well. There are no blemishes, scratches or irregularities that I can spot with the naked eye. Very robust construction.To be honest I’m not a someone who cares how evenly coffee is to be tamped or whatever else coffee snobbery entails. But the price and utility is hard to beat. I purchased this for approximately INR 600 and it is definitely worth more.If you’re looking for a no-nonsense coffee tamper with full metal construction, then there is literally no other option on Amazon. You may find something better in a physical store somewhere but not on this website.
